Pakistan is in a tight spot in Galle Test
Pakistan lost three wickets in the first session of day 5 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, but they still have a good chance of winning the match and winning game one of the series 1-0. Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam are at the crease, and they are two of the best batsmen in the world. If they can stay together and build a partnership, Pakistan should be able to get the runs they need.
The match is still very much in the balance, and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds in the final session. I’m sure it will be a close finish, and I’m excited to see who comes out on top.
Pakistan’s early struggles
Pakistan got off to a poor start in the morning session, losing three wickets for 25 runs. Abdullah Shafique was the first to go, caught behind for 8 off the bowling of Prabath Jayasuriya. Shan Masood followed soon after, bowled by Jayasuriya for 7. Noman Ali was then run out for 0, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position at 25-3.
Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam steady the ship
Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam then dug in and started to rebuild Pakistan’s innings. They put on a 53-run partnership for the fourth wicket, before Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for 36. Babar Azam remained at the crease at the end of the session, unbeaten on 26.
The match is still in the balance
Pakistan needs another 83 runs to win the match, but they still have two of their best batsmen at the crease. If Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan can stay together and build a partnership, Pakistan should be able to get the runs they need. However, Sri Lanka will be hoping that they can break the partnership and get Pakistan’s tail wagging.
The final session is sure to be exciting
The final session is sure to be exciting, as both teams will be fighting for victory. Pakistan will be hoping to win the match and take a 1-0 lead in the series, while Sri Lanka will be hoping to hold on for a draw and level the series.
