Vivo reveals the rotating gimbal-like camera mechanism for the new flagship phone X50 Pro ahead of its June 18 launch

Vivo reveals rotating gimbal

Vivo is seemingly making many people turn to have favorable looks for the company’s new phone X50 Pro with its fancy camera. The X50 Pro is soon to hit the stores on 18th June 2020. the Chinese smartphone manufacture revealed the new camera setup of their smartphone on the China-based social media platform Weibo where they explained lots of technicalities in the phone’s gimbal-like camera.

This teaser of the phone shared by Vivo highlights the X50 Pro’s periscope telephoto camera setup which is places on 2 alongside conventional lenses in the rectangular-style box.

The interesting part of this camera setup is that the periscope lens is able to rotate which allows for improved optical stabilization whilst shooting videos in low-light conditions.

Although Vivo is still to reveal as to what kind of sensor are they using for their new micro gimbal-like camera in X50 Pro, Vivo still revealed that it has worked with another company Sony, so there are chances that the sensor in this phone is most likely of Sony.

The camera of X50 Pro makes use of the 5-axis OIS with the X & Y axis tilt angles for about 3 degrees each which makes it about 3.2 times much better as compared to a traditional OIS.

Aside from these camera specifications, nothing else is known about the device’s specifications. But one thing is clear so far that this phone is going to be a promising one for taking stabilized videos in low lighting conditions.

It is also not known if the company has plans to mass-produce this device and sell it in other markets aside from China. But there are most likely chances that unlike the Vivo Apex, this phone is going to be sold in more markets across the globe and at a high price tag.
